Can I leave plugged in and on all the time??
ok, I read through a LOT of post and cannot seem to get a consensus on this. I've tried others brand like Franklin but usually quits in two or three days. Tried everything including taking out battery. Going to give this one a try but really need to feel like it's going to work especially with a contract involved. This is the ATT one Thank in advance for your help.

If you're going to run it with the battery pulled out you'll need to use a 2.4A charger. The one included with the MR1100 isn't suitable for running it with the battery removed.
Whilst it's not intended to run a mobile hotspot 24/7 you can give that a try.

I've been running my MR1100 for a couple of weeks now, with an upgraded charger and no battery. It's also connected to a Gigabit Ethernet switch via the Ethernet port and I've got 2 additional access points connected into the switch to distribute dual band WiFi around the house (the WiFi signal strength from the MR1100 understandably isn't as strong as a larger device). Please see this earlier post I wrote (message 12) explaining about my upgraded charger and ways of reducing the MR1100 temperature: Nighthawk-M1-Drops-Internet-Overnight-why

Not sure this is my issue exactly, my unit just seems to "go to sleep". My wife starts work before me and she notices no internet connectivity is associated with an AMBER LED on the device, a light press of the power button and about 20 seconds later, the LED is Blue and internet restored......can NETGEAR please provide an always on or keep alive mode.

According to one of the Netgear moderators, there will be a new firmware release in Feb that will allow the Ethernet port to be set permanently on (no timeout as at present). Also the Ethernet port will be able to be switched on by default after a reboot, instead of off by default, as it is at the moment. See this post for more details: Nighthawk-M1-Ethernet-Port-Timeout
