LB1120 SLOW SPEED WITH ATT SIM

This is my 3rd LB1120 modem.  I first install was 2 at work off a Sonicwall, for fail over connection.  They had slow download speed at first  of 5mbps down.  Yet my cell phone was getting 28mbps down in the same spot.  Both on ATT, but different bills.  ATT try saying modem couldn't reach the 4G lte tower.  And I was in a 3G area and that was the best they could do.

So they did get fixed by a installer of wireless modems.  Something on the ATT side.

Well my 3rd LB1120 is for me.  And max download is .5-3mbps.  And now my phone is getting about the same speeds.  Its like add the Netgear LB1120 trigger something in my ATT account that slowed my data plan down.  I was getting 16 to 30mbps at home before the new sim card was turn on. Anyone ever have this happen?  I'm on the 2nd week of phone tag with ATT support. 5 new sim cards between my phone and modem.

    Hi salvagetec,

Sorry for your inconvenience. I was wondering if your LB1120 device was up to date with it's firmware. Also the NETGEAR LB1120 cannot change anything to your AT&T account.

Saturday night I called ATT tech support try to find a fix to the slow data speeds.  The tech inform me, my house is was only 1/2 mile from a 3g tower. With a $100 outdoor mimo antenna I get 3 to 4 bars.  Kind of odd I'm not getting better. The modem page shows 4g connection. My best speed was 10AM Sunday mornig. 8 mbps down 13 mbps up. Do able speed for most.  But most of time time its .5-3 mbps down and 5-7  mbps up.

Is it normal to see faster outloads?

My fear is with all the new ATT plans with speed caps.  I got added to one when the modem was added.

        Hi salvagetec,

Thank you for your response. So your ISP said you were half a mile away from a "3G" tower. I'm not sure why your modem page would show 4G connection. If you are concerned if your ISP has speed caps on their plans then you should confirm with them to double check. Also if the firmware is up to date, then please perform a factory reset on your LB1120.

Please let me know if this fixed your issue. :]
