MR6500 Keeps crashing with Firstnet
Hello all, We switched our service to Firstnet a couple of months ago, and with that, we also upgraded to the NG MR6500 Hotspot. Ever since we have had nothing but problems. The 6500 crashes on a daily basis and seems to lock up. When I hit the power button the screen just flashes and I have to reset it by unplugging the device and plugging it back in again. This will fix the problem for a while or maybe even a day but it eventually does it again. We thought it was a defective device however we are now on our 3rd device and the same problem happens. We had them give us a new SIM card and that seems to fix the issue for a few days but then it "crash" again. It almost seems like the device is corrupting the SIM card (if that's possible).
I read somewhere on this forum that the MTU on the device needs to be lowered, however, I can't seem to find anywhere on the settings online to change it or the WAN settings area even in advanced settings.
I am pretty much at a loss at this point and would appreciate any help that can be provided.
Thanks,

I too am experiencing the exact same issue. No internet/screen flickers. Pull plug, wait, plug in, access for now. Averaging 1 reboot per day.

After some more testing:
With the battery, I still lose connection, but the screen does not flash and shows no indication of lost connection. I have to unplug and take the battery out to reset.
It was up for less than an hour, so I would like to change my statement of 1 time per day to multiple times per day!
FirstNet
Band: LTE B14 (it has been B12)
Firmware: NTGX65_10.01.47.00
Hardware: 1.0
- Chef42974InitiateAre you all able to give an update on this issue?

We are on FirstNet as well with our organization and recently upgraded to new SIM cards and new M6 modems. The issue we have is that the modems sometimes will have full signal 4G or 5G but service will say disconnected. We have to switch airplane mode on and off or restart the modem to try and get it to connect to the service again.

SAME ISSUE . I use it to provide connection for security system so this is unacceptable. worked fine till abt two weeks ago now won’t maintain connection for more than a hour or so then goes searching. have to factory reset to get connection ##mr650 #firstnet
- Dustoff77AspirantI’m also having this same issue. On second replacement with no luck. Device seems to overheat, screen flashes and locks up. This is unacceptable for a device costing what it does.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
Thanks
- Dustoff77AspirantThank you for the update! We’ve been on the phone with AT&T, Firstnet, and netgear and they didn’t have any solutions. Looking forward to the update so we aren’t using phone data for work!
