Netgear MR2100 no wifi

Hi team, Mr2100 was working fine, now the wifi doesnt seem to be working - the wifi tab at the bottom of the main screeen has an X on it. i have the latest FW installed as of this date, ive factory reset several times with no change.

unit was workig fine,  i plugged in an external HDD with it's own power supply into the M2 and was able to stream a few minutes of some video files. after this, the wifi seemed to be disabled as mentioned in the previous praragraph.

Unit is still connected to mobile carrier, and works with usb internet but no wifi.

    Hi Thomasishere

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Please provide device SKU (MR2100-1TLAUS) and firmware version.

Using a device that is connected to the network, kindly access the router settings page, go to Settings > Wireless > "Broadcast Wi-Fi Name SSID" should be checked.

Please check as well if WiFi Standby is set to Disabled or Enabled.

    Regards,
    Blanca

appreciate the effort, but is there anything else other than the basics you have mentioned? restarted, resetted several times with no improvement.

      cheers

That option to "Broadcast SSID" under settings does not show up in the Netgear screen, Also should the WiFi Standy be set to "Disabled" or set to some time frame ....

The replies you wwre given were not specific enough and confusing ...

My M2 periodically does the same, master reset is the only thing that works.
  • I have exactly the same issue with my brand new router. Nothing mentioned here worked. I think it’s a hardware issue and I will have to return my device back.
