Netgear Nighthawk m1 MR1100 Firmware 12.06.07 cannot operate without battery
After upgraded to firmware 12.06.07, my netgear m1 cannot operate without battery inserted.
It keeps rebooting.
Before the upgrade, it works normally just using ac adapter (with no battery inserted).
This is a known issue with the current release (12.06.07.00). The main fix in the latest release was to address the reset being experienced by some users. There should be a new FW release soon to correct the no battery problem.
Here are the release notes for the latest FW:

Wrong forum. Go back to Community, Home, and select the correct sub-forum to post in. Someone more familiar with the product might be able to help.

Same problem here.
Hope the fix has helped more people than it has hurt. :smileyhappy:

Wouldn't it be more helpful to describe how we can make a firmware downgrade?

In hindsight, the upgrade notification should warn if a known bug is introduced to avoid the risk of upgrading firmware and then downgrading firmware.
If the above is too technically difficult to implement, a boilerplate warning to read the release notes would help those consumers feeling lazy at the time and tempted to trust in the competence of vendors. :smileyhappy:

Great! That means three to six months for the fix. My router will be melted by then :smileylol:

What's the best play for maximizing the lifetime of the battery?
1. Leave battery in and power plugged in and trust in the charging algorithm;
2. Attempt to run off battery power during the night and charge during the day to prolong battery life; or
3. Attempt to run off battery power during the day and charge during the night to prolong battery life?

- wilshingTutorI feel that this upgrade makes battery life longer. (when no ac adapter plugged)
But it also comes with weaker signal strength/ lower download speed/bandwidth.- mliTutor
"Battery charging stopped due to high device temperature." This is in a cold room on the verge of winter so possibly worse in a hot summer room.
Currently router is being used in a static location so cannot benefit from a longer battery discharge cycle. Router is due to be used in a mobile fashion in the future and presumably a similarly amusing firmware will drop to impact that mode of operation in due course. :smileyhappy:

As 12.06.07.00 is a temporary release,
let me summary my experience between 12.06.08.00 and 2 versions before :
1) It reboots faster
2) It has longer battery life, in old version, when using outdoor it cannot sustains the whole day. Now it can.
3) It can now operate without battery and does not need Quick Charge 2.0 charger. Before, if no battery inserted and not using Quick Charge 2.0 certified charger, it cannot operate. (**stock adapter works in both versions with no battery inserted, it's the case if you use other usb power source)
4) But it has weaker signal/bandwidth. In old version, it could reach 50Mbps but now it cannot, just max out ~20Mbps. Of course it may be related to my mobile LTE provider. Subject to verification and more user reports.
**I tried to rollback to see if i could get higher bandwidth. But it does not allow me to rollback (showing error 16, etc). Tried "MR-1100-100NSA..." and "MR-1100-100EUS..." version, both said invalid.
