Nighthawk M1 Mobile Hotspot as Home WiFi

I have the M1 Hotspot and am using it as a WiFi for my home. Works pretty well, good speeds, all systems hooked up fine. The only issue I have is that the distance of the WiFi/Hotspot is not very far. Is there any way to boost the internal radius inside my house? I would prefer to mount the Hotspot nearest to the wall/window that has LOS to the tower, but I find that on the other end of the house I don't connect to the wifi. Just curious what my options are. Thanks!

  • From what I've read the wifi range on the M1 is not as strong as a typical home wif router. Why not repurpose an old Wifi router as your primary access point? You can hook up the M1 to the WAN port of your old router.

I just ordered an M1 and plan to use it as my secondary home internet access. I have an RT2600AC that has dual WAN support and plan to connect it to the second WAN port and leverage polcity routing.

Did you get this setup working? I have a RT2600ac but am unable to get it to work with my LB2120 modem as a wireless backup.
