Nighthawk MR6500 - Powering without battery
I purchased a Nighthawk M6 Pro (MR6500) which is an AT&T branded M6 Pro. I put a TMobile SIM card in it and it was working just fine. The problem I have is that when I try to use the device without a battery in it I get the error message "Use the supplie power adapter when operating without battery". I am using the power adapter that shipped with the product. (model BJ12T-050240-AdUU).
How do I resolve this issue? I expect that my standard use of the device will be fixed use, plugged into the wall. It is my understanding that it is bad for the battery to leave it in the device if the device is always plugged in.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

Interesting development...
Out of curiosity I plugged the Nighthawk to the power cord and power brick that I use to charge my MacBook Pro and the device powered on successfully, even without the battery installed.
So what do I make of the fact that it can power on w/out battery from a MacBook Pro power brick but not from the AC adapter that shipped with the product?

where did you purchase this if I may ask? the original power adapter that comes with these hotspots are branded NETGEAR, with model number AD2122F20. It may seem like you don't have an original charger brick. also check the cable you're using. if you post pictures of your power brick and cable, I can tell if they are OEM or not. The original power brick and cable has no problem powering this device without battery.
- nizdobsAspirantThank you for the reply. I purchased the item as a renewed item from Amazon. I suspect that whoever made the return substituted the wrong charging brick when they made their return.
Is it possible for me to purchase the correct charging brick from Netgear?- rcpaxLuminary
That i am not so sure if netgear sells them (you might want to chat with support). You can also power this with some decent QC3.0 charging brick from a reputable brand. I have several power bricks I have tried with this model, as long as it can output 2A or more, and you are using one of those USB-C cables that came OEM with a fast charging phone, you should be okay. OEM is ideal, but I have this work with a lot of 3rd party cables and bricks. You just have to find which one works.
