Unlocked MR6500 reboot cycle
As suggested by another forum member, I'm starting a new thread that's specific to my problem.
I've acquired an MR6500. With no SIM card installed it boots to the home screen and stays awake. If I install a SIM card it does a continued reboot cycle over and over indefinitely. I tried the "fix" that was reported on this site by plugging in the device while pressing the power button. It went into "downloading software" mode. I left it in this state overnight. The next morning it did boot to the home screen, but within 30 seconds it started the reboot cycle thing again. Any further projections on a real fix for this problem? What are my options to unbrick this device?
Further detail: Device has been unlocked and I was using a T-Mobile 5G data only SIM card. When it booted completely, it did indicate the carrier as T-Mobile and did show signal strength.

Every time I check for a software update, it says my version is up to date and gives me no way to check for updates. The current version is now: NTGX65_10.04.22.01. I know that this is not the latest, but I see no way to get anything newer. Am I missing something? Is there no way to force an update? The current version has known bug issues that I don't want to have to deal with.
Sorry for replying your email late. AT&T has the control of releasing the upgrade gradually. So far, they haven't release it to all the devices with FW 10.04.22.01. You can check later.
Thanks

Not sure if it's critical, but I initiated the power up "fix" again last night and this time it stayed alive for a few minutes. Long enough to capture the model.json file before it started the boot loop thing again.

Please provide a model.josn file with the T-Mo SIM if possible. If it can't boot up to the dashboard, you can power up the device without the SIM card to capture the model.json file.
- Logon to the webui (http://192.168.1.1 ) as an administrator
- Navigate to URL http://192.168.1.1/model.json via the same browser window
- Capture the results (by selecting all + copy) and send it backYou can email the log to me at jopeng@netgear.com with your community ID.
Thanks

Two copies of the model.json files have been emailed. One is with no SIM card installed and the other is with the T-Mobile SIM card installed.
