About the New Web Interface of the M4300 After Firmware Update

This weekend I have updated the firmware of my M4300 in stack, and now there is a new web interface much more limited in terms of functionality. Is it possible to activate some "advanced" mode to allow me to do through the web management everything I could do before? It is too limited.

  • Let me help, this is not like that.

With recent firmware, the M4300 series switches offer the AV user Interface for the AV customers.

After installing the recent firmware, nothing change, you still can access the GUI using your browser, going to your M4300 switch IP interface. But, what you get is a Welcome Page with two different login's.

On the left, the user/password is for the AV User Interface. On the right, you see a large blue button for the Main IT GUI.

Click that Main IT GUI button, and your browser will open a new tab in your browser, pointing to your switch IP interface, adding the :49151 port. From there, this is the typical login to your IT GUI, as before.

The IT GUI and the AV UI share the same login (admin name and password), the IT GUI is just located under the :49151 port for all our Managed Switches the same (M4250, M4300, M4350).

    I hope this helps,

  • Do your M4300 switches adopt new the dual GUI with the update? Add the port number “8080” after the switch’s IP address, eg. 192.168.0.143:8080, you will enter the AV GUI. Without 8080, on the default port 80, one would guess you get the Main (Data) Web UI.

Have an eye in the M4300 Firmware Version 12.0.17.15 Release Nots about the changes please.

Would love to hear from a Netgear guru on how to disable  the AV UI HTTP connection so that it can align with the Main UI HTTP/HTTPS configuration., and re-enableAV UI again. LaurentMa svp.

  • Hello,

Is there a way to switch the ports between the 2 GUI ?

    AV GUI = 49151

    Main GUI = 80
