Fiber patch cords for M4300-24x24F

am laying OS2 singlemode fiber cable at distance around 1000 meters to connect interbuilding. Fiber will be connected direct to SPF+ to SFP+ transreceiver ) without using closet housing. I am using M4300-24X24F at both ends. What will be the best fiber connectors suitable to use? LC duplex or ? at the transreceiver?

  • Hi viknesh

    Welcome to the Community!

This is great to see you selected our excellent M4300-24X24F 10G hybrid (copper/fiber) aggregation switch here.

With your singlemode mode “OS2” fiber interconnect, please use AXM764 10GBASE-LR LITE SFP+ transceiver on both ends. It will drive 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 2 km (1.243 miles) distances with legacy 9/125µm singlemode fiber cables. It is more cost effective than 10GBASE-LR (AXM762) able to reach 10 kilometers instead.

Yes, AXM764 transceiver requires LC duplex connector.

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,

Thanks for the reply. I will looking forward to get 2 units of M4300 24x24F, 2 units 12x12F and 20 units of 8x8F and all will be using AXM764  at all switches to interconnect the switches between 12-14 building.

Thank you for the timely reply and solution.
