Firmware update
Our company would like to donate about 12 FSM7326P switches to schools, the firmware on the devices are very old and require upgrades to be done via the console port. This is where the problem starts, using a Cisco console cable connected to the console port of the switch, the settings for the terminal session are set as per the Netgear documentation, yet we only get garbage displayed. We have played around with various settings, confirmed the console cable does work on a Cisco Switch, but still only garbage is displayed. We can access the switch via it's Web interface, but because of the age of the firmware it can not be updated from here.
All the switch are still functional as they were used in our IP CCTV environments and it would be shame to have to scrap the units.
Does anybody have any suggestion?

Welcome to the community! :)
What is the current firmware version of the 12 FSM7326P switches? Since the web-GUI is still accessible, I suggest you to try to upgrade the firmware in a ladderized manner. For example, if the current firmware of the switch is v4.0.7.1, upgrade it first to v5.0.1.8. Then, upgrade the firmware from v5.0.1.8 to v5.0.2.1 and so on until you reach the latest firmware versio which is v6.2.0.14.
You may need to perform a factory reset the switch after upgrading the firmware to the latest version then reconfigure the setting from scratch in order to start clean using the latest firmware version.
Hope it helps.
