GS308EP incorrectly claims via UPnP to be a ROUTER/GATEWAY
GS308EP Firmware Version 1.0.1.4 claims "You can use Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) protocol to discover the device"...
OK, let's test that. In response to a "ssdp:discover" for "ssdp:all", the GS308EP responds with:
LOCATION: http://192.168.1.214:1400/rootDesc.xml
SERVER: Netgear_Switch UPnP/1.1 GS308EP/V1.0.1.4
And opening rootDesc.xml the GS308EP incorrectly claims to be a router/gateway:
urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:InternetGatewayDevice:1

Hello duckware,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
Thank you for sharing this and it is best for our Engineers to look at it for a possible bug on the switch. It will be best to open a Netgear support case so they can open an Engineering ticket to investigate this issue.
Have a lovely day,

I already contacted Netgear support and like always, Netgear support is not capable of understanding what the bug is. The full response from Netgear support was:

Greetings from NETGEAR!
Kindly find the below kb article for UPnP,
https://kb.netgear.com/000066307/GS308EP-Firmware-Version-1-0-1-4
Please follow the above steps.

Not really a bug, much more an almost common default design and implementation issue - reported on almost any other earlier Plus switch model and similr models I had in Bet testing. Of course, engineering does understand what requires to be changed - away from the ubiquitous default "router" product implementation.
