GS724Tv3 VLAN issue

I'm used to port based VLANs in the past and I'm trying to configure VLAN tagging and this T vs U business is not clicking my head.

I have a firewall that has two LAN ports, one is for my internal network and the other is a guest network that I intend on dangling a Netgear access point off of. I can't just do port based VLAN'ing because the AP will have multiple SSIDs being broadcast, with different VLANS for each.

I've been testing the tagging with my Mac and I can't seem to get this right.
Can anyone shed some light?

g1 is the private LAN, and g2 is the guest LAN. The access point could be on any port.

  • Make sure that when traffic is untagged, that not only the port us *U*ntagged member of this VLAN and the PVID (Port VLAN ID) is the same. Otherwise it won't work. :-)
