If you can not save, it is possible that there is some issues on NVRAM .
If you purchase the unit after 2007 March, unit has limited lifetime Warranty.
Call support or use my.Netgear.com to find solutions and/or process the RMA
You could try tftp to reflash if that could help as most these switches uses tftp to flash as you probably know it
