M4300 stack-port RX discarded packets, high mgmt latency
Hello, I have 4 M4300-28G-PoE+ (IP 192.168.101.4, fw version 12.0.19.23) in a stack ring, and one M4350-48G4XF (IP 192.168.101.5, fw 14.0.6.9), which is connected to the stack via 4 port LAG, each cord connected to one switch from the stack. The asic switching seems fine, I have <1ms latency on every device in the network, except for the stack management IP. Counters show RX discards on all but one stack cord (which is logically disconnected to prevent loop). The discards bleed steadily and more heavily if there are more devices in the network, though the data rate shows around 90Mb/s on each stack interface, which is nothing, when the stack interfaces show 10Gbit links. There are no errors, just RX discards (show stack-port counters all) as if the CPU buffer can't handle it. The stack management IP also has higher ping, 1-2ms with up to 80ms peaks. Those peaks are probably correlated with CPU usage spikes, normally sitting around 15 % on the Mgmt Sw, going well over 50% and even up to 80% (with agentMain, tRpcsrv.01000 and syncdb eating up the most at those peaks). There is VuWall AV system populating most of the switch ports. I have igmp-plus set up and igmpsnooping, with querier being the switch 192.168.101.4 (snoopTask eats almost nothing). The secondary switch 101.5 has set igmp mrouter 101 on the LAG and querier set to 101.4. Therefore IGMP should be correctly configured. I tried: Set all recommended settings for Netgear by VuWall. Upgraded FW from 12.0.19.21 to 12.0.19.23. Different presets in switch GUI. Disconnecting 3 out of 4 LAG ports. port-channel load-balance 3 and 6 and I have port-channel local-preference on that LAG, on both stack and M4350 I guess discarding rx packets on stack interfaces isn't a feature. Only the stack interface is having this high latency and sometimes our video streams freeze (this can be totally unrelated to the switch issue though) Disconnecting almost all devices, problems weren't as severe but persisted, which seems to me more like a broadcast storm/topology problem, rather than low bandwith problem. Anyone knows how to recover from a power outage that bricked my M4300 ? M4300-52G-POE+ We had an outage. Power came back on, then the unit boots but none of the 52-ports came back up. The OOB port lights up when plugged into, but nothing. Then I console it and got the readout. It didn't even get past port0 and stalled out. Hi, Overnight switch malfunction. I managed to connect to the switch with miniUSB console port using HyperTerminal port 23. I switched off/on couple of times. Hello Netgear Community, It is my first post here, nice to meet you all! Last friday, I faced an issue with my M4300-48X (XSM4348CS-100NES) switch. The switch has suddendly rebooted for no reason. After investigation, it appears that the switch has reached a temperature of 94°C, which is very high, but I can't figure out why that happened. Right now, the switch is working at a stable temperature of 68-69°C, which is still high for me. I have controlled the fans with a "show environnment", each of the 4 fans is operationnal and runs at around 4000 RPM. The temperature inside the server room is about 22-23°C, so it is ok. Does anyone has experienced a similar type of issue? Does someone know what could have cause this to happen? I searched for logs, but I don't see anyhing wrong except this: TRAPMGR[boxs Req]: traputil.c(795) 625 %% Temperature state change alarm: Unit Number: 1 Current: Normal, Previous: None What other type of logs should I look for to understand this behaviour? Not powering the ports. Last night the switch was powering the ports, but I could not connect to it in any way (console, oob, switch port with the recommended IP's 192.168 and 169.254). This morning picked up a console cable but unable to connect. The switch keeps running through it's power up self test, flashing the ports (amber light), but never completes the self-test. Pressed the reset button for 5 seconds and nothing happened, still running through self-test. Unplugged the power at least 3 times for ~30 seconds to reset it and did not work. Hi So I been trying for altmost 2 days to set up my netgear GS724TV4, which is a managed layer3 switch, but does not have capability to create a DHCP server. I am running a webserver and email server, and would like to seperate this from my private network, in case of hacking. So I though I would make two Vlan, lets say vlan1 for private and vlan100 for the server. ISP fiber to my house -> deco X10 setup (internet Vlan id 101 - 802.1q tag) -> unmanaged layer3 switch that provides my netgear with 2 patch cabels in port12 and 13 I have attached a screenshot of my setup and here is some info: port 2 and 3 my private network. port 12 and 13 - Conntect to an unmanaged switch, where my internet patch-cable is connected. port 24 - my server Since I dont understand inter-routing my idea was to have 2 vlans, where vlan1 had port 1-12 untagged and vlan2 had 13-24 untagged, and both vlans would get internet via port 12 or 13. Hi, I recently added to our Netgear M4300-12X12F switch (Firmware 12.0.19.4, AV UI Version 2.2.8.26, Boot Version B1.0.0.17) some Dell LTF8502-BC+-DEN1 SFP+ transceivers, right after doing that the LEDs showing active links on the other previously working transceivers shut down. Trying to debug the problem from the web user interface, very strange behaviors can be noticed when the Dell transceivers are installed: FAN-1 and FAN-2 are randomly reported as failed, and also MAC and System temperatures jumps randomly to strange values (i.e. over 200 Celsius degrees). Moreover the Power LED lights on the chassis from time to time switch to solid yellow, maybe because it performs a power-on self-test (POST), or otherwise because it reboots itself. Removing the Dell transceivers seems to solve all of these issues. Is this a known problem? Any chances that a firmware upgrade may solve the problem? Cheers, EnricoProblem with REST-API on M4300
I have a switch with 6 x APM408P on Slot 1-6 4 x APM408C on Slot 7-10 and 2 x APM402XL QSFP+ on Slot 11+12 if I try to get the VLAN configuration with "api/v1/swcfg_vlan_membership ..." I get an error: {"resp": {"status": "failure","respCode": -26,"respMsg": "Failed to get port 82 vlan id "},"vlanMembership": {"vlanid": 10}} Port 82 is the second port on the first QSFP+ card which AFAIK logically not exist, so this seems to be an error in the REST-API information getter...
