GSM7224V2 - ProSafe 24G - Rate Limit by port. Can it be done on this Switch?
Hey, I have a GSM7224V2 with the latest Firmware (8.0.1.36). I am trying to Rate Limit a specific port. I have seen pictures of other NetGear switches with "Rate Limit" feature under the QoS Tab ...

DaneA,
Yes your posted guide was helpful. Here is what I have discovered.
The GSM7224V2 WILL limit throughput via the CoS Interface Configuration page found under the QoS Tab and then under Advanced. Egress only from what I can tell.
The setting must be 0-100 (0 being no limit) and 1-100 being a percentage of the interface connection speed.
So for example: On a 100MB link a setting of 2 would set the limit to around 2Mbps.
Example 2: On a 1Gig connection a setting of 2 would set the limit to around 20Mbps.Note: The Traffic Shapping on this switch seems to only support changing the Egress traffic throughput. So on a typical internet speed test, the Download speed to my PC is what is affected while the upload speed is NOT affected.
Thanks for everyones input. I got it working.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
For testing I am doing speed tests to the internet to see if my settings are making any change. So far I am not successfully limited traffic on a specific port. Port 0/6 for example I have set to (5) and also (99) and neither of these settings changes the speed test results.
I would like to set the maximum throughput of the interface to say 2Mbps.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
