Well, simulating manually without physically unplugging the cables:
Switch>enable
Switch#configure
Switch (Config)#interface 0/xx
Switch (Interface 0/xx)#shut
Switch (Interface 0/xx)#no shut
Switch (Interface 0/xx)#exit
