Hi MaIcTRMG,
I would say the biggest advantage of using SFP modules is they don't require external power, they get power from the switch they're plugged into. Another thing is their size, 5-10x smaller compared to media converters. But SFP modules are fixed for their purpose, for example if its Multimode you can only use it on Multimode not like some Media Converters which can support both. There are some things to consider, so it will depend on your network requirements.
