I can't find my switch's webserver, GS724T
Hi. I've had a GS724T switch lying around for about a year and I decided to boot it up. After numerous attempts, factory resets and restarts, it's still not showing up in my router nor a network scan...

Welcome to the Community!
By default the switch is in DHCP requesting IP from your router, disconnected from the Network it should have a default IP of 192.168.0.239. Here's an Installation guide that may help you get access on your switch.
You can also download the switch discovery tool or the Smart Wizard discovery tool to check on the switch's IP Address assigned by the router.

Hello Mark, thanks for responding!
I have already tried to connect to it after restarting it while it's not connected to the router and it still doesn't work. When using Wireshark, I can see it's sending out DHCP discover packets:
I don't know if that helps. If I go to 192.168.0.239 in the browser however there's no web interface and it fails to connect.
I tried the discovery tool but to no avail, nothing shows up. I tried both when my router is connected and when it isn't.
Any ideas what's wrong?

Technically, one would expect the source IP for the DHCP discovery would be 0.0.0.0 instead of any IP possibly configured or the default LAN IP. not the only oddity on several older DHCP client and/or IP stack implementations on such embedded devices.
Needless to say, you need a computer eg. manually configured to that 192.168.0.x ip subnet (this is what the hint for the installation guide should unveil). So temporary configure your computer network adapter to an IP address in the 192.168.0.0/24 subnet, like 192.168.0.123 - wonders of IPv4 subnetting would give you access to the switch on that 192.168.0.239 address.
From this point, you can figure out what exact model and firmware your GS724T has. there are about ten different GS724T models listed on https://www.netgear.com/support/ - from decades old to newer devices.

Hi. When I go to change my PC's IP address, it asks for all this:
What do I fill these with?
- schumakuSep 24, 2022Guru - Experienced User
Address 192.168.0.123
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.10
DNS1 192.168.0.10
DNS2 192.168.0.11
Let Windows know to ignore the checks and apply anyway.
Addresses don't matter as long as these are in that very same subnet (192.168.0.1 ... .254
