JGS524PE Garbage characters in web UI
Hi - Just came into possession of a JGS524PE and reset it to factory specs. Seems to switch packets okay.
When I use the web UI in Chrome or Firefox I get the following image (link below) displayed in my browser. Safari doesn't render the UI at all except for the menus. I'm on a mac.

Any thoughts of what I'm doing wrong?
Firmware is 2.6.0.43.
Thanks,
David

Nothing wrong, could be some hardware issue, or an incomplete firmware.
These classic Plus switches have (to my knowldge) no serial port, but are built on an unmanaged core and a tiny 8051-class micro controller holding the very basic Web UI, and the code for the Netgear Switch Discovery Protocol acessible by the ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility, pure legacy (!), available as v2.7.8 via older model downloads, like https://www.netgear.com/support/product/jgs524pe#download - requiring Windows systems, requiring a workable installation of Npcap (currrent, legacy API), and the switch configured to allow Switch Management Mode, Web browser and Plus Utility and File Transfer via Plus Utility (TFTP) enabled, too. And yes, this does indeed all work on recent Windows 11 64-bit installations in February 2024. Still no switch log, even for old hardcore engineers 8-)
Said this, 2.6.0.48 is available on the Netgear download page linked above.
Yes, a little bit challenging, and a lot of effort to revive an old beast. And yes, this is the real utility acutally running as of replying to ths thread 8-)
