M4100-26G-POE - recurring overload fault on ports 17 - 24
I have a M4100-26G-POE that I bought a few weeks ago and I'm seeing recurring overload faults on ports 17-24 only. I've used the exact same cables and devices on ports 1-16 and they all work fine, but if I move the cable over to one of the upper ports it will work for a few minutes then reset due to an overload fault every few minutes or so. Nothing is wrong with the cables or connectors and like I said it works fine on ports 1-16. Ports 1-16 are configured the same as ports 17-24 in the web page.
What I would like to know is if anybody else has seen a similar problem. Specially, I want to know if this is a defective unit, a hardware design flaw, or a issue with the firmware(initial version for this model). I tend to think this is probably a defective unit, but I wouldn't be shocked if this is a firmware issue.
I want to know because I don't want to go though the expense exchanging the unit for the store or swapping it out on warrantee and getting a replacement that is a refurbished model unless something is actually wrong with the hardware. I'm not sure I see myself using more then 16 POE ports in the foreseeable future.

I sold my M4100-26G-POE because I needed a working switch.

- jbidtahAspirantI am having the exact same issue, except my ports are.1-4, 17-24 good,
ports 5-16 are constantly shutting down. I have a Polycom soundpoint ip 320 and a polycom soundstation ip 6000. No I am guessing bad switch. - FooBar12134AspirantI decided to keep my switch the way it is since I have enough POE ports for my uses.
I did noticed that the latest firmware release has a note about fixing a overload fault issue on this exact model. I installed the firmware, but I haven't retried the bad ports yet. - bananamanNoviceJust spent several days trying to figure out why my PoE access point was constantly dropping out... turns out it's this problem! It is showing with the latest firmware, 10.0.1.21.
Anyone have any hints when this gets fixed? - bananamanNoviceFirmware 10.0.1.27 is now available, and one item in the release notes may relate to this problem:
