Need help creating vlan (802.1Q)

Follow up question:
If I leave the GS724Tv2 switch with all ports in default configuration (assigned to vlan1 and untagged) will any tagged packets be passed through the switch with their tags unaltered?
I found some posts online that suggest this is true, but no official documentation.
