VLAN 1 traffic should not have been affected by the changes you did for VLAN 1003. How did you determine that VLAN 1 traffic to the firewall was being blocked? Did you try pinging the firewall from a device wired into your switch?
Is your firewall set up to receive and send traffic tagged with VLAN 1003? Moreover, is there a DHCP server for that VLAN?

The devices connected to the switch all lose access to the DHCP server running on the firewall. I can’t really say for sure at what point on the network the traffic is being blocked.
The firewall is configured for vlan1003.
