Netgear GS724T uplink not working to Netgear GS724TPv3

hello,

Why is the Netgear GS724T unable to establish an uplink connection with the Netgear GS724TPv3 and not receiving an IP address from DHCP? When attempting to uplink with a switch from another brand, the Netgear GS724T is able to establish a connection and obtain an IP address from DHCP.

Considering there are almost a dozen GS724T models and variants in the field

Permitting we are facing a recent GS724T version in it's default configuration, a possible answer could be because of the GS724TPv3 port(s) you are connecting the GS724T to is configured different, ...

Since I'm not Netgear (and never was!) so please allow the hint that we're talking about Smart Managed swiches here, each having a link LEDs on the front panel, a fine Web UI (among other alternate other sophisticated functions), giving more information than a dumb unmanaged switch.

sorry, it is GS724T v6  with default configuration. I tried to update to the latest firmware, but had no luck. On GS724TPv3, the ports are configured similarly. On the other five ports, I uplinked other GS724TPv3 switches, which are working okay and obtaining an IP from DHCP.

        Hi toxikas,

Welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂

Can you provide your network topology (showing how the switches are connected and which ports) and the screenshot of the Port PVID Configuration page under Switching - VLAN - Advanced  (or Switching - VLAN - click drop down button and select VLAN Configuration (Advanced)) of both switches so we can check?

        Have a lovely day,
