After more research I decided to replace the 7224 with a new JGS524PE . We have some GS108PEv2 switches, those are easy to manage using windows only software . We'd prefer an open web page type software that runs on linux. However 'The ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility, also referred to as the ProSAFE Plus Utility ' works well and we are comfortable using.

Is it common to stack switches that are 150 feet away? I assume so . we always had one server room, however after an expansion I am desling with two.
I think we need a switch that can stack with our gsm7352v2 stack , a new one over there would be worth it .
my questions , I assume long distance stack is normal:
1- what type of cable and connectors should we get?
2- could I get a suggestions on a 16+- port switch to replace the aged gsm7224 ?
