Read GS516TP temperature sensor / replacing fan
The 40mm fan inside the GS516TP is rather loud, even if no network connections are plugged in. It appears if, although being fully PWM controlled, the fan goes up to 100% at the end of the booting sequence. This is annoying.
Is there any way to read out the system temperature which is used to calculate the fan speed? I intend to replace the fan (with a Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM -- I know that the air flow is significantly lower than the factory-provided Foxconn PIA040H12M, but hey, the switch will never have to work under full load) and would love to check if heat goes up.
Any advice?

Hi Twonky,
Welcome to our community!
If it seems that you felt that the switch is faulty as the fans are running 100% even if no device is connected. I suggest you to have it replace first and please open a chat / case online on NETGEAR support and please let them know the status of the switch. If you wanted to manually fix the issue with your switch by replacing the fans, the warranty claim will be voided.
You may check our warranty policy here.
