SFP fiber ports between a GS716Tv3 and GS748Tv4 and a GS110TP
Has anybody had any issues with the SFP ports not reconnecting after restarting their GS716Tv3 switches? I currently have 3 of these switches and have experienced this problem on two of them, one of them uplinking to a GS110TP and the other to a GS748Tv4, when I restart the GS716 switch the SFP ports will not restestabish a connection with the other switch unless I unplug the fiber cable and plug it back in, after that it will work for months on end or until a power cycle happens,on one switch it happend with a recommeded Netgear module and the other with an off brand module.
It appears changing the patch cord worked, its hard to tell for sure as it's not convienent to restart the switch often. :)

Hello grgdunn,
Welcome to the community!
I have not seen such a case. What firmware versions are you using on the GS71Tv3's?
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, the firmaware is 6.3.1.11 but after further investigation I think the probelm is due to attenuation, this fiber installation is over 10 years old and to the best of my knowledge the patch cords have never been replace or cleaned, I will report back what I come up with after cleaning and/or replacing the patch cords.
Thanks again,
Greg
