STP is preventing loops in your network that results to a broadcast storm. If Link Traps is enabled then a trap will be sent if the LAG link state changes. LAG/LACP will only depend if the device that will be connected either supports LAG/LACP. It is just that LAG is static configuration while LACP is dynamic.
