Hi pma,
Let us isolate the problem. Kindly answer the questions below:
a. Have you tried using another console cable as well as another PC to have console access?
b. Have set the following settings to gain console access [baud rate: 9600bps / data bits: 8 / parity: none / stop bit: 1 / flow control: none]?
c. The XSM7224S has a default IP address of 169.254.100.100 as per page 505 of the user manual here. Kindly try to connect a PC directly to any LAN port of the XSM7224S then set a static IP address on the PC that is within the range of the default IP address of the XSM7224S and check if you will be able to access its web-GUI. Are you able to access the web-GUI?
Note: Kindly try to check if you get replies from the default IP address of the XSM7224S using the ping command via the command prompt.
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
DaneA

Hi,
Here are the answers to your questions :
a. I tried to access the switch with two differents computers (one on linux and the other on windows) and wires, all working to connect to other switches. The only things that I capture on the serial port is "FE00" or "00" in Hex when I boot the switch
b. Yes I have set all these parameters to these values (I also used RealTerm on Windows to have a GUI for all these parameters values)
c. I tried to connect a computer to the switch, for a computer plugged on a rj45 port the computer says that the wire is unplugged, and from an SFP with static values that are ip : 169.254.100.25, netmask 255.255.0.0 and gateway 0.0.0.0 and I cannot ping the IP 169.254.100.100 or have any access to the web interface.
Thanks in advance.
