Best Practices for Configuring Switch Connected To Internet

Model: GS105Ev2

Firmware: V1.5.0.4

Hi there!

Our internet provider has provided us with 3 static public ip addresses along with their internet cable modem.

I've connected the internet cable modem to our GS105Ev2 switch (port 1).

On the GS105Ev2 switch - port 3 to 5 each connect to it's own firewall appliance.

I've done the following so far on the GS105Ev2

Made sure it's running the latest firmware.

Changed the default password on the switch.

Is there any best practice recommendations on what else I should consider changing on this paricular switch to ensure best performance and security?

    Hi colligo,

    Welcome to our community!

As per checking in here that you do have a GS105Ev2 on which is just a Prosafe plus switch. No additional configuration needed to ensure the best performance and security of this device. Actually you may just connect all the firewall appliance and set each with its own IP and you're now good to go. Unless you maybe needing to have a port-based VLAN to ensure that this will not communicate to each other.
