Finding the IP address of a switch using a MAC

Hi.

I need to find the IP address of my GS108T switch on my network.

An IP scanner is not locating it - no MAC address matchup.

It does not show up in the router's DHCP server - no MAC address matchup

"ARP -a" does not find it.

I have a MAC so the ProSafe Plus utility does not work.

Broadcast Ping did not find it.

Any other thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

Mike

  • Yeah, I guess the Smart Control Center software is Windows only.

The default IP address is 192.168.0.239. If that doesn't work, then you could perhaps try Wireshark and sniff a packet or two from the switch. Power cycling might encourage the switch to emit something.
