     Thanks for your replies.

     

    Both devices have shipped today and I have just set up a simple test.

    Before I go into further details: my plan works! :smileyhappy:

     

    Regarding your statements:

    • a: I do of course understand the limitations in bandwith / speed.
      • I gladly take this drawback for the added convenience
      • Originally, I simply wanted to run one cable from point A to B - these switches are meant to be for future additions / serviceability
    • b: At the moment: 1 PC.
    • c: No - the added devices won't need PoE.

     

    Here is a quick photo of my tests (I got full Gigabit speed on either of the switches):
