GS105PE PoE+ Injector

Not sure if a certain requirements that are not written for GS105PE PoE,

but I was not able to get it fully powered (green led on port 5) with 802.3at POE+ injector that supplier power via pins 4/5+ and 7/8-, but it worked with another injector that provided power via pins 1/2+ and 3/6-.

Can anyone share their experience and which pin configuration that worked or didn't work for them?

    0xE1,

    Welcome to our community! :)

This switch supports PoE pass-through. If the input voltage to port 5 is less than 45 VDC, the PoE pass-through is disabled.

The GS105PE switch must receive power through its PD port from a PoE switch. The GS105PE switch can then pass a portion of that power through to PSE port 1 and PSE port 2. Depending on the power supplied to the PD port, up to 20W of PoE power can be supplied to the PSE ports (assuming the sourcing PoE device is IEEE 802.3at).

PSE port 1 is given the highest priority. The GS105PE switch delivers power to PSE port 2 based on the actual power left and the reported PoE Class of the device connected to port 2. For example, you can power two PoE devices that are Class 0 or Class 3 if the device on PSE port 1 consumes less than 4.5W.

    Here is the reference.

    Regards,

Oh it works, just in 802.3af mode instead of 802.3at even though the PoE injector is 802.3at rated,

I ordered a PoE mode converter now that switches ppower pins around, will see if it will make it work as well.

JohnC_V the suspicion here is that there might be some compatibility issue with the unknown power injector which does support Mode A instead of Mode B.
