GS108Tv2: Firmware Not Updating from v5.4.2.30 to v5.4.2.33

> Have firmware v5.4.2.30 as "image1"

> Had an older firmware v5???? as "image2", which I deleted

> Downloaded v5.4.2.33 stk file

> Used GUI's maintenance to download stk file from local computer to "image2" using http 

> "Release Notes" indicates that "File transfer operation completed successfully" should show, but never did after ~15-20min and refresh indicated no differently

> Went back to file management and there is no image for "image2" 

> Tried process with two different browsers in Mac environment

> I looked for, but could not find any intervening stk versions between ....30 and ...33, hoping that might have a strategy to update to ....33

 

Any help to suggest a solution would be appreciated, as I'm not sure where is the hiccough.

  • After the file download completed, check the dual image configuration status and check the FW 5.4.2.33 (Image 2 version) and FW 5.4.2.30 (Image 1 version).

     

    If yes, follow the steps below.

     

    Go to dual image configuration

    > Select the "Image2" under Image Name dropdown.

    Make sure the Current-active must be "Image1"

    > Tick the Activate Image checkbox and click Apply

    > follow the step 7 and 8.

      Hi There - 

       

      Tx for the input. 

       

      I actually run into the problem even before importing the skt file.

       

      In fact, when "downloading" (importing) the skt file from my computer to the switch to create "image2" after choosing "image2" from the dropdown, I never get to the point where the GUI indicates that it was successfully loaded, which is supposed to be noted by the GUI with the message "File transfer completed successfully". (I attached a screencapture from the "ReadMe" file that comes with the skt.) I have left the GUI run for more than 20min without success. (Besides, I don't think that a 4Meg files takes that long.)

       

      I also went back to check if an "image2" exists, and there's nothing there.

       

      Appreciate your further input with this.

       

      BTW, I'm in a Mac environment, should this make a difference, and have tried using both Firefox and Safari to accomplish the same thing.
