GS308Ev4 can't login to brand new Switch
As topic. Basically had a new 8 port smart switch arrive today as I'd outgrown the 4 port I'd had before. All connects and powers up ok and is doing the job of a basic switch. However, although I can reach it's admin page, the default "password" doesn't seem to work. It tries to load a very basic page with a few letters and numbers on it which flashes up, then goes straight back to the admin login page.
Can anyone help?

What browser are you using? Try a different browser? MS-Edge or Firefox?
Be sure to clear out all browser caches as well.
Using Chrome, latest version. Caches have been cleared.
Momentarily after typing in the default password, in the top left a bar appears with what appears to be 4 clickable areas, each with a name that doesn't appear to make sense.

Is what appears briefly before I get sent back to the login page.
