GS608 only allows single port connection with new modem
House is set up with modem to GS608v4 then ethernet cables only to various Cat 5 outlets; no wifi router. This worked well with the old modem but switched that out for new Arris modem from Spectrum ...

If the modem is only a modem then only ONE IP address on the WAN side can be used. So to correct this, you need a router or wifi router or router system in between the ISP Modem and GS608 switch to have this working correct. Having a router in between the ISP modem and switch is standard operating process.

Thanks. That makes sense and fits with what I thought I understood. I'm just a little surprised/disappointed that the techs I talked to earlier today didn't make that connection. Could've been how I was describing my homemade 'system'. I can only assume that the previous modem was combined with a router and I (and the Spectrum techs...) just didn't know it (I did ask at one point). Easy fix then.
