GS724TPv2 - 2.0 Firmware
Good Morning (again)
I have another firmware update question.
This one is for GS724TPv2, all the one I have are in 1.1.50.39, the last firmware before 2.0
Existing configurations will be erased after upgrading the firmware from v1.1.1.x to v2.0.0.x. Furthermore, configuration files are not compatible between v1.x.x.x and v2.x.x.x firmware.
So if I read it correctly, in order to update my switch I have to redo all the configuration of ALL my 724tpv2 switches ?
Even if it induce downtime for my users ?
Other thing : What does 'Access Limited features by going directly to local device login' means ? What does 'limited features' means ? I don't want to connect my switched to the internet, so if I don't do so I won't be able to fully manage my switch as I do now ?
Thank you for your feedback.
That is correct. You may need to reconfigure your switches after you update from 1.x version to 2.x version because they do have different family versions. Unless it is from the same family version.

Thanks for your answers, but I don't currently have time to set up again half of my switches so they'll stay in 1.X.

The switches require registration with the v2 firmware update. This can be done by allowing internet or by an offline process by entering the registrtion key on the switch. FMI How do I find my NETGEAR registration key?
