GS724TPv2 link issues
Hello,

I have a GS724tpv2 switch where i have links issues, one Access point connected via POE rest is random clients, which on logging links goes down and up randomly all the time, i dont know why this is happening. I recently upgraded firmware 2 days ago.
| Model Name | Boot Version | Software Version |
| GS724TPv2 | 1.0.0.8 | 2.0.8.18 |
This is poe information:
| Firmware Version | Power Status | Total Power Available Watts | Threshold Power Watts | Consumed Power Watts | System Usage Threshold (1% to 99%) | Power Management Mode | Traps |
| 1.8.0.5 | On | 190.0 | 180.5 | 16.2 | 95 | Dynamic | Enable |
These are some of the log messages constantly in log:
1 2024-08-08T12:36:20.417+02:00 192.168.1.85-5-PORT_LINK_UP ksi_snmp.c(232): Interface GigabitEthernet7 link up

Welcome to the Netgear Community!
For whatever reson the Ethernet link keep bouncing ... physical, cable, AP issue.
Tell us more about the AP make and model please.
TIA,
-Kurt.
PS. This isn't a Managed Switch model, much more a Smart Managed Switch to be discussed in the Plus and Smart Switches Forum section - I'll request moderator to move your thread accordingly.

Seems that its not only the AP that is getting this issue, many of the other links is bouncing up and down, could be of faulty firmware that was upgraded recently? 😞

I met the same things ,Even I never update firmware .I updated firmware today .But the same .
I set 6 of GS724 TPv2 (Firmware Version V2.0.8.17) in the new building .
I set up the local network and connected 40 cameras and three APs for testing, and I could access them remotely. Power engineers may still be tweaking plans, so there are always some unusual outages and restarts out there. I noticed that. After every abnormal power outage, the ports connected to my APs and the ports connected to the main switch will most likely not work. But when I got to the site, I completely unplugged the power again, rebooted the switch, and the ports will work well again,
This is very strange. I have 20 PoE cameras connected to one switch. After restarting that Poe switch remotely, I can see that only 10 ports are online status through the web management interface, but in fact the status lights of their ports are flashing on the front of switch, and I can check it in real time. All cameras live View can be showed on recording server
I searched a lot of information about the cases of lost port connection on this model of switch. Many people have encountered similar situations but have not found a solution. I am disappointed with the brand netgear

Today i checked trap logs after having some issues in the past days with dropped packets on my pc, trap logs from the switch doesnt show any issues since August 23rd but before this date which i posted initially is not shown at all. It is instead shown from 1st of January this year which is weird. When pinging from router i dont get dropped packet but pinging from pc upstairs connected via Switch to router i get transmit failed and random timeouts, never had this issue in the past either. I am starting to believe either we have rats in the house walls that might have chewed on tp cable (despite the cables lies inside another cable canal..) or something is up with the switch.. is factory reset maybe a good option???

Abit late reply,
Ive been factory resetting my switch and at first everything seemed fine, but now after running it for some time, the issues came back, id like to believe the problem lies on the switch end, instead of my AP.
One link that is delivering POE is going down regularly and i cant seem to understand why it does it.I cant seem to find any documents on how to downgrade the firmware since id like to try this because i didnt have these issues before upgrading firmware. any help pointing how to do this?

Hello Rbmrk
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
A packet capture may help identify the activities on one of the PoE ports for further investigation. You can mirror a port on the switch to capture packets, even if the PC is not directly connected to the monitored port. For guidance on configuring port mirroring, please refer to pages 372-374 in the link provided below.
