GS728TP managment IP-adress leased through DHCP even if static address is configured

I have configured the switch to use static IP-address for managment using a separate VLAN, VLAN 123. The web gui is accessible through this IP-adress.

For unknwon reason, the switch is leasing an managment IP-adress on VLAN 1 through DHCP. The web gui is also accessible through this IP-address.

The two VLANs has no common membership on any port on the switch. The only cable connected to the switch is the DHCP server on VLAN 1

When looking at the IP-configuration in the web management interface, the default gateway field value is the gateway address from the DHCP-server, but the IP-adress for the switch is the static one.

Software version: 6.0.1.18

Boot verson: 2.0.0.11

  • Thanks for you suggestion. I solved it another way.

    1. Changed managed VLAN id to 1.

    2. Changed port to VLAN 1 and logged in, saw that default gateway field was empty. Inserted correct parameter and applied.

    3. Changed back to original managed VLAN id

    4. Problem solved.

I couldn't change to DHCP, got an error. But this did it

    Hi Erik-NA,

    Welcome to the community! :)

    Kindly try the steps below:

    a. On the web-GUI of the GS728TP switch, go to System > Management > IP Configuration.

    b. Select Dynamic IP Address (DHCP) then click Apply.

    c. Select Static IP Address then re-enter the static IP Address you've assigned as well as the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.

    d. Click Apply.

    e. Observe if same problem occurs.

    Let us know the results.
