Hey BrianL,
So pings from the AP to the switch - some packets make it and some are lost.
I tried to download(upload) the configuration file but I'm running into some similar to what this person is experiencing.

Yeah, I am at a lost to why there's packet losses. How is the AP working fine when directly connected to the router, but when connected to the switch it get's an IP address fine from the router and communication between the AP and switch just doesn't go?
The switch is at the latest firmware, 6.0.1.30.

This needs to be checked thoroughly. Can you run packet capture between the two (when the AP is connected to the switch) so we can cross-check and compare?

Stick and start with the basics.
Is the switch connected to a router LAN ports intended for LAN (and not just to connect some IPTV or settop box)?
What are the LEDs on the switch ports indicating?
Some better routers have LEDs for indicting the Ethernet link status, too.
Is the AP PoE supposed or expected to be PoE powered?
Done a factory default reset on the switch already?
Can reach the switch Web UI from a connected computer Web browser?
When you have a computer (Windows or Mac) connected to the switch, while connected to the router LAN port, does it get a LAN IP config from the router?
