GS748Tv5 managed switch with a Nest pro wifi

I have Nest pros with a Netgear GS748Tv5 managed switch. I have turned off stp and turned on forward BPDU. Everything was working fine until a about a month ago. When I connect the two Nest pros via ethernet through the switch the internet goes to a crawl then goes out. Only the internet side goes down. The rest of the network stays up.

    Hello BestYohman,

Welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂

Which port of the Nest Pro is connected to the switch? Kindly provide a network topology.

Do you have internet when you bypass the switch? Also, what is the switch firmware? I suggest to update it to the latest version 6.3.1.47, if not yet done.

Trouble might be called by the IEEE 802.11s Mesh extension in use by these Nest (and other) systems, an L2 protocol addition which might be not supported on many switches in the field, easy competing with network standard rchitecture features Spnning Tree Protocols like STP, RSTP, and MSTP. A mess is predictable easily...

      Software version is 6.3.1.43

For now I have an unmanaged switch connecting the two Nest pros. I will try to update the firmware today.

I updated to the latest firmware. The network no longer goes to a crawl when they both are connected to the managed switch. The max speed I get is 440Mbps when they are connected though. When they are connected to the unmanaged switch I get on average 950Mbps

        Hello BestYohman,

Do you get those speed through wireless clients or clients wired to the switch? Can you try to factory reset the switch (save the config in case you need to restore) then disable the STP and enable the "Forward BPDU while STP Disabled" again.
