A GS724T with V1.0.3_30 is very unlikely a V3 model. Much more this firmware and model can not even be discovered on the SmartControlCenter.Insttwd the even more legacy Smartwizard Discovery needs to be used. This will unveil it's a V2

I purchased this switch recently via ebay. Based on the information that you've brought to light. I'm beginning to wonder if a v3 case was used to house v2 internals. It's the only explanation that I can think of that would explain the current settings.
I'm more inclined to leave it as is and not take advantage of newer features that should be supported, as I'm using it in my home lab. If I were going to purchase a new switch, I would lean toward an SDN implementation like ubiquiti or omada.

Interesting idea - however no SDN in sight there ... What Ubiquiti, Omada and the likes are implementing is "just" a centralized Management. A full-SDN solution would decouple routing/forwarding decisions into an abstracted Control plane, what Ubiquiti and neither Omada does -not- do. The same applies to Netgear Insight: At least Netgear does not lie to the customers claiming it's SDN.
Calling it -SDN- is nothing more than making the product “buzzword compliant”.
