MTU Issues over LACP trunk link
Hi,
We have two XS716T ProSafe switches and a 2 port LAG group is used as a Trunk link between them. All our interfaces are set to 9000 MTU, but we only get 1500 over the LAG link. Has anyone seen this same issue? Is there perhaps a bug that a FW upgrade can fix?
Firmware Version: 6.6.0.11
Port Configuration ... use All or LAG ... there I would expect the controls to set the LAG Frame Size.

Thanks schumaku, thats exactly what I missed.
I have attached an image here for others that have the same issue- schumakuGuru - Experienced User
Just curious TenacIT_Support ... I find it rather confusing that Netgear does offer the ability to restrict the MTU on a per-port base, that the defaults are set to the (granted IEEE standard) number, on the XS708T, XS712Tv2, and XS716T models.
On the bigger members of the family, the XS728T, and XS748T, the MTU is wide open to the max (somewhere above 10000) on all ports, on all LAG, there is not even a control on a per port (and per LAG) for the MTU. Much more reality-friendly in my opinion. Why? Well, on one hand it is network-admin-friendly, on the other hand the switches have no option to participate in the Path-MTU-discovery (except when routing is involved - there we have another control for the routing MTU). And nowadays the L2/L3 stacks on the systems are robust and wont fail if hit by a larger packet anymore. IphieChen and Christian_R that's something to discuss and consider for firmware updates (and future L2+ Smart Managed Plus switch products).
