165 TopicsCLI support for GS108Tv2?!
Dear Community, I'm new on this forum but have been using Netgear stuff in a SoHo setting for some 15 years now. First a ReadyNAS RND4000NV, then a WNDR3800 (wifi) router, and then a bunch of GS108T managed switches. Wonderful stuff. Recently bought one more GS108T but this turns out to be a different beast. I found that my old switches are GS108Tv2 and my latest is GS108Tv3. And the latter supports CLI. Being a Cisco pro (bit rusty now), I instantaneously activated Telnet access (to the CLI) to experiment with it. Nice! But now I'm wondering about my bunch of GS108Tv2's: do these also have CLI support (either official or non official)?! Thanx in advance, Steyn van EssenSolvedGS752TP Firmware Upgrade Failed
I attempted to upgrade a GS752TP from firmware version 60.0.1.16 to 60.0.1.30. I followed the instructions here, just with the 60.0.1.30 firmware instead of .24 as shown in the instructions. When I rebooted, the switch powered up, but I cannot connect to it in any way. The Power LED lights up and alternately switches between green and orange very slowly (maybe once a minute). The LED Mode LED is on solid green. When the Power LED is orange, the port 37 and 43 link LEDs light up solid regardless of if anything is plugged in. When the Power LED is green, whatever ports I plug into will light up solid orange. The LED Mode LED stays on solid green the whole time. I've tried pushing the "Reset" and "Factory Default" buttons on the front and they don't seem to do anything (i.e. - it doesn't reboot/reset as far as I can tell). I've tried connecting to Smart Control Center, but nothing shows up. I've tried the default IP's I can find in the documentation (192.168.0.239 and 192.168.1.1) and I can't access the web interface. Obviously, something went wrong in the upgrade process, but I'm really not sure how to even troubleshoot since the switch is basically non-responsive to anything I do.GS724TPv3 The switch loses IP connection about 1 time in 5 days.
Hi, I have Netgear switch GS724TPv3, newest firmware installed The switch loses IP connection about 1 x every 5 days. I don't know why? While power supply of IP cameras powered via POE is maintained. IP connectivity from router and connected devices to switch is lost. After hard power off and on of switch everything works. The restart pin on the front of switch does not restore connectivity, it requires complete power off. The switch has a static IP address to avoid problems with address reservation from DHCP router. Looking for a solution to the problem of setting up a reboot script for switch GS724TPv3 from my NAS Synology via ssh or telnet. Can someone with experience help me with writing a script. Today I started working with my brand new GS105Ev2 switch (I already have a GS108Tv2). Out of the box I discovered there was a firmware update available for the unit; version 1.4.0.9. (The stock unit was firmware 1.4.0.6). At this point I only changed the default IP. Apparently this unit has to be updated through TFTP.. annoying, but ok. I fired up the TFTP server, let the switch acquire the correct firmware file. The switch reboots.. and... it came back at the default IP (192.168.0.239). The webserver presents a simple page with a menu "Firmware Upgrade" and "Reboot". Under "Firmware Upgrade" it shows two boxes "TFTP Server IP address" and "Image File Name". So it seems this is a boatloader management page to recover a failed firmware. So I fire up the TFTP server again; result: "Firmware is upgraded successfully. Please wait for the switch to finish rebooting with new firmware." The switch reboots... and again; the bootlader page on the default IP. What the heck is going on? I've tried the older firmware version (1.4.0.6), I've tried different TFTP servers. Nothing seems to work.SolvedUpgrading firmware on GS105Ev2 -- fails using TFTP
Greetings, I have two GS105Ev2 switches that need a firmware upgrade. The current firmware on the switches is 1.3.0.3 and I'm trying to upgrade to 1.6.0.11 downloaded from the Netgear site. The only option available on the switches is a firmware upgrade via TFTP. To that end, I installed a SolarWinds TFTP server on my troubleshooting laptop (Windows 10). I've also checked the following: 1. The switch management webpage is reachable from the laptop. 2. Both the laptop and the switch are on the same network segment. 3. The TFTP server service is running on the laptop. 4. The laptop Windows Firewall has been configured to allow TFTP traffic (i.e., I've configured the firewall to "allow the TFTP server to communicate"). 5. The .bin file is located in the TFTP server root folder. Even with these checks, when I initiate the firmware upgrade process I receive the error message "Could not locate TFTP server". Does anyone have any ideas on what else I should check? Is there any other firmware upgrade method for these switches? Thanks!1.9KViews0likes2CommentsNetgear GS316EP reports as GS108EV3 after factory reset
We have an unused Netgear GS316EP 16 port switch. During troubleshooting we were asked to factory reset the switch. After factory reset it reverted to it's default IP address. When you connect via web to the switch via it's default IP address, the switch now says it is a GS108Ev3 8 port switch. The configuration utility is completely different from before. I downloaded the newest firmware but have not yet tried to install. The installation of firmware is even very different between the different models and I was concerned that the incorrect firmware (wrong model) might brick the switch. How can we get our 16 port GS316EP back? (We need all 16 ports not just 8)GS105E V2 Firmware "issue"
I've updated the firmware (1.6.0.21) via the Prosafe Plus utility only to find it is now not seen by said PP. I can access it via the web but I find that I prefer the PP. Can I roll back the firmware, if so what is involved? I'll just add that I've two GS108E v3 and one GS116E v2, updated to their latest firmware(s) which do still present on the PP.SolvedGS110TP hardware version?
Hello, I have the GS110TP V1H1 switch (I'm assuming I have the V1 hardware?). I am trying to find the correct firmware to use. When I check the support page for the GS110TP, it lists firmware as 5.0.1.10 (Located here GS110TP Page) I noticed something weird.. On the back of the switch, there is a sticker that shows the firmware being newer than what's on the GS110TP page?: HW: GS110TP SW: 5.0.3.5 Does anyone know how I can confirm which firmware I should be using, and where I can find the most current firmware? Thanks.
