In my prior post here I described an issue I'm having with my GS110EMX, which is not tagging frames on a trunked interface despite an apparently valid configuration. This switch is running Yesterday, reading the documentation of another vendor's switch, I came on a setting on that device where the switch did not tag frames if the vlan matched the port's PVID. Given that at the time (our teenager was in the middle of an intense online game), I decided to test this with a new VLAN. The setup (screenshots below) is as follows: Port 2 untagged on VLAN 10, PVID set to 10 Ports 1-6, 9, 10 untagged on VLAN 2, PVID set to 2 Ports 7/8 (LAG 1, LACP) tagged on VLANS 2 and 10, PVID set to 2. I plugged my laptop into Port 2, and ran several packet captures from both my client and the upstream router (a Mikrotik RB5009) during my testing. Some interesting (and maddening) results came from this: Traffic from untagged VLAN 2 ports appeared up the upstream router untagged, as previously observed. Broadcast DHCP requests from my laptop did not appear on the upstream router, at all. No traffic tagged with VLAN 10 was seen (caveat: I did not test the forwarding of non-broadcast traffic sent from my laptop into port 2 using a static IP configuration on the DHCP client). Attached below is a series of screenshots showing the configuration and the resulting PCAPs. Is there anything I'm missing, or is this a failure of the switch hardware itself? And yes, I did powercycle it to make sure that wouldn't change anything. GS110EMX configuration: LACP configuration for LAG 1 on Ports 7-8: 801.Q Configuration: 802.1Q Configuration: ports 2,7-8 as members.Netgear GS316EP reports as GS108EV3 after factory reset
We have an unused Netgear GS316EP 16 port switch. During troubleshooting we were asked to factory reset the switch. After factory reset it reverted to it's default IP address. When you connect via web to the switch via it's default IP address, the switch now says it is a GS108Ev3 8 port switch. The configuration utility is completely different from before. I downloaded the newest firmware but have not yet tried to install. The installation of firmware is even very different between the different models and I was concerned that the incorrect firmware (wrong model) might brick the switch. How can we get our 16 port GS316EP back? (We need all 16 ports not just 8)GS105E V2 Firmware "issue"
I've updated the firmware (1.6.0.21) via the Prosafe Plus utility only to find it is now not seen by said PP. I can access it via the web but I find that I prefer the PP. Can I roll back the firmware, if so what is involved? I'll just add that I've two GS108E v3 and one GS116E v2, updated to their latest firmware(s) which do still present on the PP.SolvedGS110TP hardware version?
Hello, I have the GS110TP V1H1 switch (I'm assuming I have the V1 hardware?). I am trying to find the correct firmware to use. When I check the support page for the GS110TP, it lists firmware as 5.0.1.10 (Located here GS110TP Page) I noticed something weird.. On the back of the switch, there is a sticker that shows the firmware being newer than what's on the GS110TP page?: HW: GS110TP SW: 5.0.3.5 Does anyone know how I can confirm which firmware I should be using, and where I can find the most current firmware? Thanks.Auto Voice VLAN setup
We are looking to isolate our VoIP traffic to its own VLAN. For a number of reasons, we'd like this to happen without needing to configure each phone. It looks like Netgear switches support this. Unfortunately, the documentation is scattered and in many cases outdated. I'm hoping some folks here can show me where we're going wrong. Goals: Voice VLAN = 88. Ports 1-44 set to untagged VLAN 1 and VLAN 88. Default to 1 unless MAC address prefix matches a VoIP device. Ports 45-46 are for router for Voice-VLAN and has no access to VLAN 1. Ports 47-48 are for router normal VLAN (1) and has no access to VLAN 88. Ports 49-52 are uplinks and should carry traffic for both VLANs. The phone should be able to operate in pass-through mode, and devices behind them should default to VLAN 1 as they normally would. Currently I am facing two issues: When I plug in a phone with matching MAC prefix, it is not being pushed to VLAN 88. I'm unable to outright disable Voice-VLAN (88) on ports 47-48. I'll add some screenshots of the current config in a follow-up post. Hopefully some kind network admin will take a look and be able to spot where I'm going wrong.439Views0likes11CommentsGS728TXP (S3300-28X-PoE+) EOL Bonjour/mDNS issue
Hi: Recently got a project relate with EOL switch S3300 for mDNS service. It seems mDNS didn't run through uplink to other switches. I googled and found there seems to be a firmware 6.6.4.29 solved this issue, but not been released. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Plus-and-Smart-Switches-Forum/GS728TXP-S3300-28X-PoE-EOL-Replacement/m-p/2297797 I wonder if anyone can share this version ? or any alternative way to configure for mDNS 224.0.0.251 to go through uplink to other switches ? Currently IGMP snooping is enabled for IPTV channels and only 1 flat VLAN. Sincerely, Billy LeeSolved4.9KViews0likes12CommentsGS724T v?
I have a customer with 4 gs724t smart switches. They recently had a audit (they are afinancial institution), and the audit recommended they thurn off telnet. On the v4 of this switch the GUI interface has the option to turn telnet on and off by going to maintenance->Troubleshooting->Remote Diagnostics. On their switch the GUI in the same place does not have the Remote Diagnostics option. I am guessing they are v3 or earlier. Is there a firmware upgrade for this or is there a different way to turn off telnet? There is no console port on these switches that I can see.Solved4.3KViews0likes10CommentsGS110TP bricked - help needed

Before I started I read Release notes and there wasn't any warning about upgrading from prevoius versions. What I did wrong? Is there any special intermidiate firmware to jump from 5.0.x to 5.4.x?
