Newbie | Is it possible to switch on/off internet traffic port-wise? [GS748Tv5]
Hi dear netgear community, I'm not very experienced in network settings. We got a new 48-Port Smart Switch in a class room and I would like to know if I can somehow switch on/off internet access...

Hey Julian,
Thanks for reaching out on the community, we all start somewhere :smileyhappy:
What you are trying to do could be achieved via an ACL(Access Control Lists) on your switch.
If you follow these guides in order, it should give you the knowledge of the 'what is' and the 'how to' aspects.
What are Access Control Lists (ACLs)
How do I filter traffic with an access control list (ACL)
How do I use the ACL Wizard on a smart switch?
GS748Tv5 Manual - ACL Chapter Page 206
You would need to allow access to the required internal networks, and then deny to the non required extenal networks, although it would be a permanent change not a time dependent one.
I hope that helps, but if you are unsure after reading through the above please do reach out again.
