POE device on my JGS516PE is not being allocated an IP address by the DHCP server on the subnet

Thanks for your post.
It turns out the Sophos firewall is dropping the DHCP request packet from the Vivotek camera. Curiously if I set it up with a fixed IP, then change to a DHCP allocated IP, it works! If I then disconnect and reconnect the camera, the firewall again drops the packet.
So there is no issue with the JGS516PE. I have a work around with the D-Link switch, so that will do for now!

Start with think about the 802.1af PoE - this might not be sufficient.
As you don't give any insight on your Vivotek models, firmware (what works, what does not work), same for that other magic DLink PoE switch, figure....
