Port Connected to smaller switch shuts off daily
I have a GS750E that has a port that keeps loosing connection on a daily basis. I have turned off power saving mode but it still persists.

After a deep cable inspection we found that the security folks while running more camera wires nicked the cable run in question. It still passes certification up to cat 6 but there is noise on the line that we weren't seeing before. We replaced the run and have not had any more issues. Thanks

Hi AaronMcGee,
Welcome to the community!
There are several things we can check for your trouble.
1.Power saving mode. As you said ,you have disable it, so we can exclude this
2.Loop prevention. If loop prevention is enabled and the switch detects a loop, the switch blocks one of the ports that are partof the loop.
3.Auto DoS. We can try to disable this feature ,then see how things going .
4.The device that connected to GS750E. Suggest to check the device that connected to GS750E and make sure it is working fine.
Can you kindly help to check, and if anything found please keep us informed
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
1. Disabled
2.Disabled
3. Disabled
4. Brand new gs108 switch. Certified the run to that switch to verify it is fine as well.
That port has gone offline 5 times in the past 24 hours. Either rebooting the switch or just un plugging and re plugging the cable into the port fixes the issue. Have even tried different ports to make sure not just a bad port. Same problem.

Any other thoughts on this issue. It has been happening a lot and the end user is not happy.

Hi AaronMcGee,
I also find a GS750E(version 1.0.0.22) on my hand, and have let it run for two days, but cannot see the same issue.
Suggest to open an online case with NETGEAR Support at anytime regarding this concern. They would give you more support. And it best to show they this post, incase they would ask you the same question we have discussed
Thanks
Carl
