Using network cameras in different configuration

Hello,

I have an application, where I have a number of PoE cameras, that sometimes have all to be connected to only one computer, sometimes a subset of the cameras to one, a subset to a second, and some powered off. All of that should be steered by a central computer. All cameras are used by a realtime system with sync packages, so they have to be in a private subnet with the computer they work for. And: The computer's realtime interface IP numbers will both be the same and cannot be changed.

My idea was (using a GS752TPP switch)

  • connect one port of the switch to my general network for steering (Control)
  • connect two ports to the two computers's private camera networks (Comp1,Comp2)
  • connect all cameras to the switch

Then I would use configurations:

1-computer config

  • VLAN1: (Control) in company network, PoE off
  • VLAN2: (Comp1) + all cameras, all camera's PoE ports on

2-computer config

  • VLAN1: (Control) in company network, PoE off
  • VLAN2: (Comp1) + first camera group, all camera's PoE ports on
  • VLAN3: (Comp2) + secondcamera group, all camera's PoE ports on
  • other camear's PoE off
  • In this case, VLAN1 and 2 would have to be completely isolated because they have common IP numbers

Now my questions:

  • an this be done with a GS752TPP at all
  • and can these configurations be saved and switched by sending commands to the switch over the steering interface
  • if possible in batch mode, not interactively?

I must admit I'm no networking guru, just in technical sales...

Thanks for any help!

Andreas
