Vlan isn't working correctly

Hi,

I've set up switch GS724T like this :

g1-g8 (vlan10)

g9-g18 (vlan20)

g19-g23 (vlan30)

g24 MIRROR

My problem is when I connect my computer on port g2 I received packet from dhcp on vlan 10 ( Good news ) BUT

if I connect on port g7 or g8, I don't received any offer from my dhcp (vlan 10)..

I looked up with Wireshark with a port mirroring, and simulate a new connection on g7. I observed that equipment connected to g7 make a request to broadcast and after that DHCP's server on vlan 20 try to offer him an address. But of course he can't reach the equipment..

So i've got two questions :

How the broadcast can pass through the vlan10 ?

How DHCP's server (on vlan 20) can receive this request from vlan 10 ?

What's wrong ?

The only settings that I've made are vlans, g1-g8 (U) g9-g18(U) g19-g23(U)

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

  • Hi hugo_jove,

    Welcome to our community!

About your settings and configuration seems that you haven't change the PVID yet on the ports so the incoming traffic is still going to VLAN 1 and that will explain why you see the broadcast on the wireshark.

Could you test the following configuration :

    g1-g8 (vlan10) -- Change PVID to 10

    g9-g18 (vlan20) --- Change PVID to 20

    g19-g23 (vlan30) --- Change PVID to 30
