VLAN Setup with SonicWall Wifi

Equipment

1 - Sonicwall Router

2 - Sonicwall AP

2 - Netgear GS716Tvw

2 - buildings (Building 1 is main, Building 2) connected via fiber

I'm trying to

Building 1 - Netgear switch, Sonicwall Router, Sonicwall AP

Building 2 - Netgear switch, Sonicwall AP

The router came setup from corp.  Trying to get it to work with the Guest Wifi which needs a VLAN10.  The netgear switches have been running with no VLANs.

We setup the router to provide business and guest wifi.   The guest wifi is setup for VLAN 10 and gives guest access via 172.x.x.x addresses.

The switch in the admin (main) building has 3 ports tagged on VLAN10 (ports 14,15,16).   Plugged into these ports is 1) fiber from building 2, router, AP).  All other ports are still default.

1. problem with the above?

2. does the VLAN also need to be setup on the second switch (building 2)?

Suggestion?

Typical issue unrelated to the Netgear switch - corporate should provide documentation what and how the Sonic equipment is configured, from this one could at least derive on how a multi-building location should be configured.

You just have to configure what is required - if the normal corporate LAN is a flat/untagged VLAN, and the guest network is VLAN 10 and coming out somehow from the switch (like the same port like the corporate LAN but tagged, or on a dedicated port and untagged).

And then one guess in the other buildings is more than just an AP ... so there again, the switch(es) need to be configured accordingly, too.

Over the fiber connections, one does run trunk, certainly with the VLAN 10 tagged. And for the AP one can guess the corporate (and management subnet) might be flat an untagged, or tagged. Most likely, the guest SSID is mapped to a tagged VLAN on the AP.
